Onyango’s Sundowns Seal La Decima After Kaizer Chiefs Collapse

Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns beat Black Leopards 3-0 to win a record 10th PSL after title challengers Kaizer Chiefs drew 1-1 with Baroka.

Sundowns and Chiefs came into the season’s final day level on 54 points but the Amakhosi, who at one point held a 13-point lead, needed only to match Sundowns result against Leopards to claim the title.

Even without an injured Onyango and a missed penalty, Lebohang Maboe’s hat-trick (45+’, 53′ and 90+) sealed the contest for the Brazilians who have won three league titles in a row.

The loss for Leopards sees means that the side will hope to keep their PSL status in the promotion / relegation playoffs.

Chiefs who led through Kharma Billiat in the 39th minute, saw their hope come to an end before the hour mark when Mozambican midfielder Manuel Kambala leveled for Baroka FC.
