Federation of Uganda Football Association, FUFA, has warned clubs not to resume sporting activities until advised.
The caution comes after some Clubs have reportedly started training ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Mbarara City FC for example, held friendly matches among other teams.
This, comes after President Museveni gave Sports a greenlight to resume since March 18.
The President, however, put strict guidelines on resumption that include testing of players every after two weeks and mandatory quarantine for a whole championship.
“FUFA wishes to thank His Excellence the President and all Government agencies that have enabled the resumption of sports activities in Uganda. We are indeed very grateful,” FUFA Deputy CEO Decolas Kiiza has said in a statement.
“FUFA wishes to put it to the notice of all its members, members of FUFA and to whom it may concern that all association football activities are still suspended until advised to the contrary.
“Resumption of training, friendly matches and competitions must be under detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with strict guidance of the ministry of health.”
Decolas Kiiza added that the Federation is discussing with the National Council of Sports, Ministry of Health and other agencies on the best way forward with the implementation of the directive and guidelines.
He added: “FUFA reiterates that no training sessions, friendly matches, and competitions should be conducted until advised in the due course.
“Any one that contravenes this directive shall be liable to sanctions.”
The Uganda Premier League is tentatively set to resume on October 17.
