Ssentongo Nears Kyetume FC Return

Uganda Premier League strugglers Kyetume FC are reportedly closing in on resigning veteran striker Robert Ssentongo on a short term deal, Sports Nation has learnt.

Reliable sources have revealed that the player and Kyetume’s top brass have held smooth negotiations and the two parties seem to have reached on a comprise.

However, the nitty-gritty details of the deal remain undisclosed.

The veteran striker, who names KCCA FC, URA FC, and SC Villa as his former employers has been out of service since last June when his contract with the Slaughters run out.

He notched eight respectable goals as the Mukono based side fended off relegation in their debut season.

But the new season has proved disastrous for the Livingstone Mbabazi coached side thus far, sitting 11th on the UPL log with as many points and talk of relegation riffle around them.

In the bid to concur with well fabled truism “desperate times calls for desperate measures”, marked improvements in the playing squad were bound to take course and the enigmatic former Uganda Cranes marksman has been earmarked to curb the side’s profligacy in front of goal.

Whilst his enigmatic antics and age, the player’s known impressive goal scoring abilities is not a matter of debate – Four Uganda premier League top scorer gongs can attest.
