NCS Evaluation, Monitoring Exercise Underway

National Council of Sports (NCS) has set in motion the much vaunted Monitoring and Evaluation exercise of National Sports Associations/Federations on Monday.

The exercise that runs from the 15th to 22nd March 2021is an annual activity aimed at informing government/NCS on the status of the 51 National Sports Associations in Uganda as a requirement of the NCS Statutes Instruments 2014, No.38.

In his remarks at the launch of the exercise, National Council Of Sports General Secretary, Dr Patrick Ogwel revealed ‘This particular exercise will get us to appreciate the level of our sports to establish what the 51 National Sports Associations have delivered for themselves and whether they are operating within the confines and requirements of the Sports Statutory Instruments.’

The exercise is a fact-finding mission for data collection and as such Sports Federations Presidents, General Secretaries, Treasurers, CEOs are expected to be available to interact with the NCS Technical Team headed by the Assistant General Secretary/Technical, Mr. David Katende.

The exercise started with a visit to Association of Uganda University Sports at Balintuma Road, Mengo where the NCS Team has been received by the Association’s President, Ms. Peninnah Kabenge before proceeding to the offices of Federation of Uganda Football Associations still in Mengo.
