Vision Women Football Club made a perfect start to the FUFA Women Elite League after they thrashed St. Peters Apoi Girls 5-0 on Thursday to go top of Group C.

This was the second game in the group following Amuria High school’s 3-2 victory Ajax Queens earlier in the morning.

Coming into the game, the contest was termed Northern Derby since the two teams come from the same region.

Vision WFC proved too good for St. Peters as they dominated from start to finish.

Captain Farida Oyella and Sharipher Atimango scored a brace each on the day, with the other goal coming from Phionah Arach.

Just six minutes into the game, Arach handed Vision the early lead off a perfect run that later saw her slot past the on-rushing Rebecca Auma in the St. Peters goal.

Five minutes later, Oyella doubled the lead for her side with an easy finish before Atimango made it three moments later.

Three became four in the 25th minute, with Oyella firing in the top corner to complete her brace on the day.

Vision went into the break with a healthy four-goal caution and it was just a matter of seeing out the second half.

Timango put the icing on the cake with the fifth goal on 90 minutes, her second on the day.

Victory sees Vision WFC go top of group C with three points, level with Amuria High school but with a better goal difference while St. Peters are bottom of the pile.

Vision WFC will progress to the knock out stage if they beat Ajax Queens in their second game on Friday.

For St. Peters WFC, they need to bounce back with a positive result when they face Amuria High school on Friday if they want to avoid an early exit.
