Mathias Kigonya Joins Uganda Cranes Camp

Goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya is the latest foreign-based player to join the Uganda Cranes camp.

The team is training daily at Omondi stadium in Lugogo as they prepare to face Bafana Bafana away on June 10 in an international friendly.

Kigonya was part of the Thursday session, as the training entered day four.

The goalkeeper has been in fine form at Tanzania side Azam FC since joining from Forest Rangers at the start of the year.

Azam FC are third on the log with 60 points, behind leaders Simba (64) and Young Africans (61).

Kigonya will however fancy his chances ahead of Isma Watenga, Charles Lukwago, Tom Ikara and Simon Tamale, for the Bafana Bafana game.

In related developments, Geoffrey Wasswa also trained with the team on Thursday while Vipers players are expected to join the team on Friday.
