Emmanuel Okwi Finally Gets New Club

Uganda Cranes striker Emmanuel Arnold Okwi is set to join Rwanda Premier League side SC Kiyovu, The-SportsNation has learnt.

Okwi has been without a club since parting ways with Egyptian Premier League side Ittihad of Alexandria in July this year.

It has been a torrid spell since then for the Uganda Cranes captain who was recently dropped from the team that is set to face Rwanda Amavubi Stars.

Okwi was linked to a return to Simba SC of Tanzania but the deal failed to materialise.

He had talks with SC Villa but it was said that the striker demanded for about six months upfront paid in salaries.

The move to Kigali will see Okwi join Kiyovu who has won the Rwanda Premier League six times.

Kiyovu who appointed coach Christian Haringingo midway this year, is in search for their first league title since 1993.

The acquisition of Okwi will give Kiyovu renewed confidence courtesy of the striker’s experince that has seen him feature for Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia), Sonderjyske (Denmark), Simba SC (Tanzania) among other clubs.
