Meron Kyomugisha ended day one on top of the leaderboard as the Tusker Malt Lager Uganda Golf Tournament teed off with the Ladies Open.
Kyomugisha scored 1-under par 70 on Thursday to go into day two with much confidence after a 7-stroke lead.
It was an outstanding performance for Kyomugisha in a classy field that saw defending champion Martha Babirye score 1-under par-81 to finish day one in sixth.
Peace Kabasweka ended day one tied in second place with Mercy Nyanchama from Kenya.
The Ladies tourney will run until November 20 while the curtains will go down for the championship on 4th December.
The tournament, sponsored by Tusker Malt Lager, continues on Friday as the Seniors Open gets underway.
