*Express FC 2-0 Mbarara City

Eric Kambale and Godfrey Lwesibawa scored a goal each as Express crawled past Mbarara City at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Kambale scored from the spot, his effort hit the inside of the crossbar and in after Ronald Walugembe was brought down by Ronald Otti in the 26th minute.

Lwesibawa caught Hilary Mukundane in possession to rob the Mbarara City captain before lashing a left-footed effort past goalkeeper Martin Elungat.

The 2-0 win helps Express displace Arua Hill in sixth with 15 points after nine games.

There was less to admire in a game where both sides failed to create goal scoring opportunities but Wasswa Bbosa will take the maximum points and a clean sheet.

Mbarara City barely threatened up front, with their only reasonable shot on target by Ronald Edwok saved by Joel Mutakubwa.

Mbarara City thought they had got a penalty when Murushid Juuko brought down Henry Kitegenyi but referee waved play on.

Sadiq Ssekyembe’s cross went unattended to across the goal mouth, Kambale forced Elungat into a low save and later poked wide of the goal frame when he was put through in a keeper-to-beat situation.

What Next – Express FC visit URA FC in Ndejje on December 11 while Mbarara City will host Onduparaka at Kakyeka on the same date.
