Kataka FC who sit second in the Big league table after round one will travel to the far west to face third division side Rusekere at the Rusekere grounds in Kabarole in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The Mbale based side seek to emulating what Proline FC achieved when they won the Uganda Cup while playing in the Big league, their Patron Patrick Isiagi affirmed this while flagging off the traveling contingent.
“Since that FUFA facilitate every Club which represents Uganda on the continent, our aim is to fight for this cup and become the second team from second division club to win Uganda Cup,” said the Club Patron Hon Patrick Isiagi.
Rusekere growers FC qualified as one of the four teams to reach the semi finals of the qualifying round in the Kitata region playoffs and will be hoping for a maiden appearance in the round of 32.
Kataka FC has already camped in Kitara region and is headed by the club chairman and FUFA delegate from Eastern region Latif Mafuko ahead of the clash.
In the last edition, Kataka FC was eliminated by Tooro United at the round of 32 losing with a 3-2 aggregate score over two legs.
