FUFA Postpones 2021/22 Women Elite League Kickoff

FUFA has postponed the kick off of 2021/22 second Division of women football league, the Women Elite League due to non-compliance from some of the clubs per licensing requirements.

The league which was expected to kick off on February 14th 2022, has now been moved to 28th February due to some clubs’ failure of meeting the necessary licensing requirement which affected the release of fixture.

Of the 16 teams which are supposed to feature in the league, only 9 qualified for a license after meeting the minimum requirements agreed upon as for December meeting last year .

According to the letter from CEO’s office fufa women elite league office, Isra Soccer Academy WFC which was relegated last season, has players under 11 years and still waits for the decision from executive committee, while Dynamic Jjeza have not registered a single player on the FUFA connect system.

The remaining five clubs in Ajax Queens FC, St peters Apol WFC, Amuria H/S WFC, Tom View SS WFC, and Lango queens FC have failed to submit the mandatory requirements and they will be excluded from fixtures which are to be released soon according to CEO’s letter.

Among the many other requirements, the said five clubs failed have failed to submit Application of club licensing – paged club history, club email address and official digital platform, list of players and their shirt numbers, stadium Tenancy agreement, samples of home and away kits, medical personnel, proof of fufa management certificate, bank account, coach CAF C certificate, source of fun, budget for entire season, club status and ownership.

The nine Clubs qualified for license include; Luwero Giants Queens FC, Asubo Gafford ladies FC, Acholi Queens FC, Bunyaruguru Girls FC, Makere University WFC, Wakiso HILLS WFC, Ehcos SS WFC, kings of Kings WFC and She Kataka FC.
