Heathens beat rivals Pirates in a pulsating top of the table clash at Kyadondo Rugby grounds on Saturday.

The win, 8th for the record league winners, consolidates unbeaten Heathens place at the top of the table with 38 points to.

Pirates, who suffered their first loss, remain second with five points adrift of leaders Heathens but with just two points above defending champions KOBs.

Lawrence Ssebuliba set the tone for the game’s first try to out the hosts ahead in the opening exchanges.

But Pirates reacted minutes later to turn the tables through Humphrey Tashobya’s try.

Innocent Gwokto collected from Michael Wokorach to score his first of two tries before completing his brace that was converted by Chris Lubanga as Heathens led 17-07.

Lubanga added two penalties for Heathens to stretch their lead to 23-07, and Ivan Magomu’s penalty later on proved to be another consolation for the Visitors.
