She Corporates needed only the last five minutes of the game to beat hosts UCU Lady cardinals 2-1 in FUFA Women Super League game played at UCU University Grounds.
Favour Nambatya’s 88th minute penalty cancelled Shadia Nankya’s early strike before Susan Atim netted in a winner in injury time to send She Corporates at the top of the log.
She Corporates who registered it first away win remains unbeaten and have handed UCU their first loss of the season in turn.
The hosts dominated the proceedings at the start, and just after 11 minutes of play, Nankya headed home Hasifa Nassuna’s right wing cross to put hosts upfront.
Despite possessing most of the ball, after going in the lead, they lowered the intensity and failed to create any other clear chance till the end of the first half.
The Visitors only chances of the first half landed to Phiona Nabbumba who got the freekick at the edge of UCU’s box at 28th minute, but fired over the bar before missing another open net just a minute later.
The second stanza was all about the visitors who had the lions share of the possession but failed to create any meaningful attack until the last five minutes of play.
In 88th minute, Nambatya sent Hadijah Nadongo the wrong way from a penalty kick to level matters, following Mercy Nabulobi’s handball in the forbidden area.
In 90+2 minute, substitute Atim who came in for Grace Nasongo put a good use to Ronah Nantege’s through ball which beat the hosts’ entire backline to expose Nalongo who had little to do about Atim’s finish.
UCU’s only chance in the second half landed to Sandra kisakye who missed a free header off Harriet Muwugumya Cross
A win means She Corporates remain in top spot with three points clear on the log with 13 points, they will be in Soroti to play Olila High School in their next fixture.
UCU who recently led the summit by goal difference, drop to second, still on 10 points and they will host Kampala queens in their next fixture.
