Proline FC have been relegated to Regional League after Ndejje University FC thumped Kitara 5-0 at Arena of Vision.

The result meant that Proline, who were not in action on the league’s final day having finished their games earlier, finish third from the bottom having been leapfrogged by Ndejje who ends their campaign with 26 points.

Finishing with 25 points, Proline join MYDA FC and Nyamityobora who were earlier relegated with games to spare.

“The 2021/22 season has been a very difficult one and we have not been good enough at all,” reads a statement issued by Proline management after the news of their relegation came through.

“Proline is here for long-term and we will not allow this one moment of great disappointment to stop the continued development of this Club in the coming years and beyond.

“As a club, there are lessons to be learned a s changes to be made but, from today, we move forward. We have to accept a different challenge. We will make changes where the team is concerned and those changes will make stronger, ready to face the challenges that lie ahead and rekindle the passion of Proline.”

The message continues in part: “… Proline will continue scouting, developing and nurturing players, something we all believe we can achieve.”

Ndejje University Ease Past Luweero United:

The University side started its last game in relegation position 9th, on 23 points, two points below safety, meaning they had to win to survive, and with the results registered, congratulations are in order.

However, their win relegated the 2018/19 Big league champions, Proline FC who are now back to Kampala Region league.

Ndejje who were on crucial mission than visitors Kitara, dominated proceedings straight away and just after seven minutes, found the opener through left back Hakim Ssemakula.

Nineteen minutes later Abdulkarim Kasule doubled the lead before Nicholas Luzige made it 3-0 at the stroke of halftime.

The hosts picked up from where they left from, with the desire for more goals and in 62nd minute, substitute Reagan Mpade made it 4-0 from Brian Ssali’s cross.

Kasule had another chance to record a brace but his effort went few inches wide at far post before Francis Onekalit missed a free header.

All looked like it’s was done and dusted but with three minutes to play substitute Brian Obedi made it 5-0 as one of Big league pioneers survived the knife.

Kitara who showed no interest at all in going forward, were on receiving end almost in the entire 90 minutes as the result suggests.

Promoted teams to UPL are Blacks Powers (Champions), Maroons and Kyetume.
