Onduparaka Rally from Behind to Beat UPDF in Bombo

Onduparaka came from behind to defeat UPDF in the final match of the season at Bombo Barracks Military Ground.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe gave UPDF the lead before goals from Yakin Rashid and Emmanuel Okech gave the Visitors a victory.

Onduparaka are unbeaten against UPDF since their promotion to the top flight.

Brian Bwete was denied a perfect sending off after he was unused substitute in the final game of his professional career having announced his retirement.

Aggrey Kirya with the first attempt of the game after Mugisha’s low corner was cleared on his path but his shot went wide.

Ojara made a timely header to deny Ahimbisibwe off Mugisha delivery.

Mansoor Safi long ball behind the defence to Shaban but the Skipper was out muscled by Ssekitoleko before he dispossessed Wammanah but his effort was easy for Goalkeeper Wasswa.

Muwanga made a reflex one hand save to deny Magogo free header from a well timed Yiga delivery.

Ahimbisibwe broke the deadlock for the hosts with a free header after a nice cross from Begesa in the 16th minute.

Ogik thought he had equalised for the Visitors tapping home from Mansoor pass but he was flagged offside.

Wasswa made a near post save to deny Ogik off Mansoor cross before comfortably handling Ogik attempt from the resultant corner.

The visitors pressure finally paid off in the 36th minute when Yakin Rashid equalised heading home Mansoor Safi freekick though Begesa thought he had made a goalline clearance.

Muwanga once again made a reflex this time tipping off Okello’s attempted cross.

Nothing could separate the two sides at halftime.

Wammanah was gifted with a glorious chance in the box by Ezekiel but his attempt with the weaker foot went wide before substitute Ezekiel forced Muwanga into a nice save.

Muwanga once again called into action denying Ezekiel long range shot.

Shaban failed to capitalise on Aggrey howler after he tried to lob the Goalkeeper with a header following a poor clearance by Ssekitoleko.

Emmanuel Okech gave the visitors the lead after dispossessing Ssekitoleko past a helpless Goalkeeper in the 72nd minute.

Muwanga again denied Ezekiel low attempt in the near post.

UPDF finish the season in the 10th place with 37 points while Onduparaka end in 9th with 37 points in 30 matches.
