CAF Zonal Qualifiers: She Corporate Too Good In Opener

She Corporate got off the mark in style in their opening Group B game of the CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers.

The Ugandan representatives rolled over South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars with a 6-0 victory at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.

Phiona Nabbumba led the way with a brace, including a 28th minute opener that set the tone and settled the nerves.

Anita Namata and Margaret Namirimu scored before the break while Favour Nambatya was also on the scoresheet before new signing Joan Ainembabazi put the icing on the cake.

The South Sudan’s side barely threatened after going down despite proving a hard nut to crack in opening exchanges.

It’s a dream start for the FUFA Women Super League Champions but they will be aware that they will face harder resistance against other group B opponents Simba and Garde Security in coming games.

The other Group (A) Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), AS Kigali of Rwanda, Zanzibar’s Warrior Queens and FOFILA PF of Burundi.

She Corporate return to action on Wednesday against Simba, who also won 6-0, at Azam Complex.

The top two teams advance to the semis with the Tournament’s overall winner earns a ticket to the second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
