Final: Simba Queens 1-0 She Corporate
3rd place: CBE 3-1 AS Kigali
Uganda’s She Corporate missed out on a CAF Women’s Champions League ticket after a defeat to Simba Queens in the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers final.
The Tanzanian side won 1-0 in the closely contested final at Azam Complex in Chamazi on Saturday.
Kenyan Vivian Carozone Aquino converted from the spot in the 47th minute and Simba Queens held off pressure from She Corporate before the final whistle.
It has been an impressive campaign for She Corporate who earlier eliminated Commercial Bank of Ethiopia at the semifinal stage.
Simba Queens who beat She Corporate 2-0 earlier in the group stage, will represent the CECAFA regional at the CAF Women’s Champions League later this year in Morocco.
The Champions also banks US$30,000 cash prize, while She Corporate settles for US$20,000.
CBE who beat AS Kigali 3-1 in a bronze medal match, takes home US$10,000.
