SC Villa Plots To Acquire New Home

Uganda Premier League record winners SC Villa are planning to acquire a new home, the club officials have confirmed.

The Club’s First Vice President Daniel Bakaki confirmed that they will acquire land this year where they will construct the stadium.

The Jogoos will use the Compensation from Villa park to fund what promises to be a landmark project.

SC Villa will receive money in the region of Sh3bn from Uganda National Roads Authority (Unra) in compensation after they were evicted from their training ground (Villa) in 2019.

UNRA took over Villa park to start their project for the construction of the Kampala flyover.

The Club had been at Villa since 1976 after permission from Uganda Railways Corporation.

“Building a stadium for this club has always been our passion, but it has been a big problem that everyone has been talking about,” Bakaki said during a fans meeting.

“The issues has been money, but that has been sorted. And I know we are getting the land in the short period of time. Before the end of this year, we shall be unveiling where we will be building the stadium.”

The Club has loitered around the central region in search for a temporary home ground.

They will host at Wankulukuku next season, after spending a season at Njeru last term.

Bakaki commented that Players have been paid on time since last season and there are in talks with a Sponsor to come on board.

Ben Misagga, Vice President in terms of Mobilisation and Fans Affair, urged fans to remain calm ahead of the new season.

Misagga who cautioned fans on discipline, also assured them that the club has recruited wisely in the transfer market and will assemble a good team that will compete next season.
