Onduparaka FC Confirms 11 New Signings

Uganda Premier League side Onduparaka have confirmed the players they have signed in the concluded transfer window that was closed on Wednesday.

The Caterpillars have signed 11 players including one who was promoted from the junior team.

Among the players signed include a Goalkeeper, 3 defenders, 5 Midfielders and two strikers.

The notable name is Amos Muwonge who joined from Wakiso Giants on a two years employment contract.

He is joined by Goalkeeper Norman Angufidru who joined from FUFA Big League and exciting Midfielder Munir Saidi from Pakwach Young Stars as reported by the Sports Nation last month, they both pen a two years contract.

Midfielders Boy Fazilinho from Araka FC and Asiimwe Kenneth from West Nile Regional League side Pakwach Young Stars both sign four years contract.

Odramacaku Central Midfielder Musema Boniface and Busoga United Midfielder Ibrahim Ekellot both sign 3 years contract with the Arua based side.

Defenders Stephen Odongo was signed from Buganda Regional League side Kiwanga United on a two years deal and Joel Abaliwano from Busia Fisheries sign for 3 years.

Striker Abonga Dominic who joins from Kiryadongo United have signed a 4 years contract while Midfielder Pririo Jimmy was promoted from the Junior team and have been rewarded with a 5 years contract.

Onduparaka also unveiled Haruna Mawa as their head coach and he will be assisted by Hamza Kalanzi.

Gadaffi Gadinho, Rashid Okocha, Davis Mayanja and Adriko Gasper all renewed their contracts with Onduparaka.

The caterpillars lost a number of players including Captain Shaban Muhammad who joined KCCA, Norman Ogik returned to Wakiso Giants, Okello Ivan and Jimmy Ndalambi joined Blacks Power, Patrick Matovu signed with URA, Goalkeeper Micheal Kagiri, Abasi Kateregga all went to Kitara FC.

The caterpillars will host their opening five matches at Bombo Barracks Military Ground and start the season with -2 points after being penalised by FUFA.

They kick start their season against URA at Nakisunga Ground in Mukono on Saturday 1st October.
