Martin Aprem scored the all important goal late in the game as BUL FC edged Onduparaka FC 1-0 to reach the quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Off the bench, Aprem scored with ten minutes to play to ensure that his side progressed to the stage.

Bul FC finished with a man less after Emmanuel Kalyowa was shown matching orders in the first half .

It was a perfect for Simeon Masaba, who was in charge of his first game at Bul FC as an interim coach.

The first half, that had a limited chances from both sides was highlighted by Kalyowa’s red card, who was sent off in the 33rd minute.

But after the break, the visitors, Bul, who were a man less remained calm and composed throughout.

In the 72nd minute, Masaba made some changes, introducing in Aprem for Ivan Wani, a substitute that later paid off.

And in the 80th minute, Aprem broke the deadlock to send the visiting fans into wild celebrations.

In the closing stages, Onduparaka tried to stage a come back but Bul remained compact to pick the needed result on the day.

It is a big result for Bul FC, who were also starting life without Alex Isabirye, who left for Vipers recently.

Bul now join other UPL sides like Vipers, Bright Stars, Express FC that have already progressed to the next stage.

For Onduparaka, they will now shift their focus to the Uganda Premier league where they are still rock bottom on the log.
