Uganda Cup: Defending Champions BUL Face Police Test

Stanbic Uganda Cup holders BUL FC will seek to get past FUFA Big League side Police FC in the Quarter finals at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

The Eastern Giants will have to put aside their League struggles if they are to book a ticket to the Semis.

The Club has struggled since the departure of title-winning coach Alex Isabirye recently to Vipers.

They have one win to show, against Onduparaka, in five games. They are winless in last four league games, a poor run they will not want to take in the domestic cup.

BUL hierarchy is said to be contemplating on appointing a new coach, with Arua Hill gaffer Livingston Mbabazi the likely option.

BUL FC eliminated fellow Uganda Premier League side Onduparaka in the Round of 16 at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium.

Martin Aprem scored the all important goal for BUL after a 1-0 triumph.

They earlier needed a replay to eliminate SC Villa after a controversial FUFA ruling.

For Police FC, they will hope to cause an upset to the champions as they seek to book a place in the Semi finals.

The Cops will look to capitalise on BUL’ struggles, however, they will have to be at the top of their game.

Angelo Lonyesi coached side ejected fellow second division side Ndejje University 2-0 at the Kavumba Recreation Ground.

Apuutun and Pajule Lions are the other victims that have been ousted by determined Police who are also chasing a return to Uganda Premier League after demotion last season.

The final of the 49th Edition of the domestic cup will be played in Lira.
