•Busoga United 0-0 Wakiso Giants

Vipers have stormed the league summit despite failing to beat relegation-bound Onduparaka in a thrilling encounter played at Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

The game ended goalless, handing Vipers a point that have moved them level on 46 points with SC Villa.

The Venoms have a +19 goal difference, way better than Villa’s +5, and both teams have played 25 games now.

On the flip side of the coin, the result is a latest blow for Vipers who have now dropped five points in their last two games.

Alex Isabirye’s charges came into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Bright Stars on Tuesday at Kavumba.

And they sit just a point above KCCA who have a chance to move atop if they beat Express on Saturday in a game that will be played at Luzira (Wankulukuku has Bika opener).

KCCA have played a game less at this stage, and boost with a +15 goal difference.

Onduparaka remain rock bottom on 16 points, and with three games to go, remain eight points adrift of safety!

Vipers Struggle Again

Vipers have looked a shadow of themselves since beating KCCA a week back in a game under floodlights at Kitende.

Not that they were better against KCCA, but their was some hunger from the players that has since gone down.

They have paid the price since, and have gone 180 minutes without seeing the back of the net.

Against Onduparaka, they welcomed back striker Yunus Sentamu, but the forward’s poor form on the road continued.

He looked not up to the task when couldn’t place a simple tap-in after Isa Mubiru cross.

And together with Karim Ndugwa, Abubakar Lawal’s neat ball into the area went to waste.

His other chance came late in the second half when he neatly beat Moris Luggya, but couldn’t fire past goalkeeper Norman Angufidru.

That effort left Captain Milton Karisa fuming, as he thought he was in good position to receive a pass.

And with three games to go, the ball is no longer in Vipers’ hands, as KCCA will be crowned champions if they win their remaining four games!

Onduparaka had chances of their own at the other end, with Emmanuel Oketch forcing a brilliant save from Fabien Mutombora after a flick.

Dominic Abonga received various chances, but couldn’t find the target.

On Match-day 28, Vipers host Express at Kitende while Onduparaka visit Maroons at Luzira
