Referees Scarcity Hits Hard on NBL

FUBA called off NBL games on Sunday May 14 at YMCA court in Wandegeya.

There is no official communication per the matter from the Federation.

But FUBA President Nasser Sserunjogi, on one of the platforms, said that they were forced to postpone the games due to scarcity of referees.

He said that a ‘big number’ of referees are officiating games at the ongoing Schools National Championships in Mbarara.

The Basketball finals for the Schools end on Monday, with St Noa and St Mary’s Kitende facing off in the Women category while Buddo and Elite High School are in the Men’s final.

The games were however held on Saturday at YMCA.

KIU Rangers blew out Kampala University ty 105-21, KCCA Panthers eased past Rezlife Saints 70-48, Our Saviour picked their third win thanks to a 63-51 victory over Kampala Rockets.

The league is expected to resume on Wednesday at Lugogo with UCU Lady Canons facing Magic Stormers while Dmark Power meet KCCA Panthers.
