Rujumba 7s: Heathens triumphant As KOBs Stumble Again in the Final

In an electrifying final of the Rujumba 7s, Heathens emerged victorious defeating KOBs 12-10.

The intense contest rewarded Heathens with a circuit victory in the ongoing National Rugby 7s series and has definitely catapulted them into a good position in the fight for the overall trophy with four circuits left to play.

For KOBs, it was a bitter pill to swallow as the Rujumba 7s marked their second loss in a final, with their previous defeat at the hands of Pirates in Jinja during circuit one.

Despite their undeniable brilliant execution, KOBs have been unable to find their bearings to clinch a circuit victory this far.

Nevertheless, they showcased their determination by battling their way into the final, overcoming the inform Pirates in the closing seconds of the game.

Speaking of Pirates, the team faced disappointment in the Rujumba 7s after suffering their second loss in the series, falling to KOBs during the semifinal, their first loss being against Buffaloes in the pool stages.

Their valiant efforts saw them secure a third-place finish, following a convincing victory against Mongers in the third-place play-off match.

Mongers, on the other hand, proved to be formidable contenders in the Rujumba 7s. Their journey to the semi-finals was marked by exceptionally shocking performances, including a stunning upset against the defending 7s champions—Hippos.

They managed to defer Hippos 14-12 in the quarterfinal. Unfortunately, their impressive run was halted by a solid Heathens side in the semi-finals.

Going into the Tooro 7s, it remains to be seen whether KOBs can overcome their final hurdle and secure a cup win. Pirates on the other hand will be eager to bounce back from their recent loss and strive to regain their winning form, while Mongers will hope to maintain their impressive performance from the Rujumba 7s.
