FUFA Juniors League National Championship: New Dates Confirmed

New dates for the FUFA Juniors League (U17) national championship have been confirmed by the competition’s organising body.

The tournament that was initially planned to kick off on Monday, 24th July and climax four days later will now instead kick off at the end of the month.

The five teams that emerged winners in their respective regions will report to Njeru on 30th, July and also undergo screening on the same day.

Real action will then kick off on 31st with two games, as Vipers SC JT will take on Mbarara Soccer Academy at 2:00pm, while Prosper Soccer Academy starts with Friends of Soccer Academy layer on at 4:30pm.

The venue remains unchanged, as all games will still played at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

The tournament was understandably postponed due to unavailability of the Njeru facility that is currently being used by Kampala Queens FC who are preparing for the CAF Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers.

The Juniors national championship will be the climax of this year’s Regional League that is happening for the first since changing the format.

Five regions out of eight that is Kampala, Eastern, Western, Buganda and Kitara organised the Juniors League (U17) in this edition and the winners will play at Njeru in a round robin format with each set to play four games during the five match days.

Vipers SC JT, Prosper Soccer Academy, Bul FC JT, Mbarara Soccer Academy and Friends of Soccer Academy emerged winners in the Buganda, Kampala, Eastern, Western and Kitara regions respectively.

The team with most points collected from the four games will be crowded national champions.
