The ongoing FUFA Juniors League National Finals at the FUFA Technical Centre have become even more interesting after Wednesday’s games.

BUL FC Junior Team maintained their perfect start to the national championship, after edging past Prosper Soccer Academy.

Eric Kibirango scored early in the 14th minute to give BUL the lead, and his goal was enough to grant the Jinja side all the three points, seeing off stiff contestation from their opponents who were equally so physical.

The win means BUL FC Junior Team stay second on the table with seven points from two games, having neither lost nor drawn any, but won both to collect six points, plus the one bonus point they got after winning one of the games with a margin of two goals – they beat Mbarara Soccer Academy 5-0.

BUL’s numbers are so identical with Vipers’, only a one goal difference separates the two teams.

Like BUL, Vipers have also played two games, won both, collected six points, plus one bonus point after whooping Friends of Soccer 6-0.

Vipers however stay top because of a superior goal difference. Vipers have scored eight goals and conceeded just one, equalling to a goal difference of seven, while BUL who are yet to concede any goal so far have scored six.

In the other Wednesday game, Friends of Soccer FC from Fort Portal City earned their first win after defeating Mbarara Sports Academy 3-1.

Abdu Musinguzi once, and Thomas Ngambeki twice scored for Friends of Soccer, as Ronnie Asiimee got one for Mbarara Soccer Academy.

The result pushed Friends of Soccer to four points from three games, but stayed fourth. They will play their final game against BUL FC Junior Team on Friday.

Prosper Soccer Academy on the other hand drop to third place with four points from two games. They will, on Friday face Mbarara Soccer Academy who are yet to get any point this campaign.

The organisers must have noted that a bit early, and strategically placed the Vipers-BUL tie on Friday evening, which will be the very last game of the championship to set up what will surely be a mouthwatering climax.

It should be noted that the tournament has five regional Champions contending for the overall national title.

The games are played on a round robbin format with the team having the most number of points emerging winners.
