The FUFA Juniors League National Finals will climax on Friday at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru with two games to sum up what has been an interesting inaugural competition.
The first game will be third placed BUL FC JT up against fourth placed Friends of Soccer.
At 4:00PM, top contenders Vipers and Prosper SA will face off in the last game of the tournament.
Only two points separate the two sides. Vipers have played three games and won all to collect nine points, plus one bonus point after whooping Friends of Soccer 6-0, making it ten.
Prosper SA in second position have accumulated eight points from three games. The have lost only once, and won the other two games with a margin of two goals to gain two bonus points. They beat Friends of Soccer 3-1 before whooping Mbarara Sports Academy 7-0.
Vipers only need to avoid a loss to increase their chances, but they should win to be assured of being crowned champions, as BUL FC, in third position with seven points still have a game, in which they could turn things around, if they win with a margin of two goals again Friends of Soccer, and pray the second games results favor them.
Meanwhile, Prosper SA have just one option if they’re to emerge victorious, to beat Vipers.
The games are played in a round robbin format with the team having the most number of points emerging winners. The winner here will therefore be crowned champion.
The organisers and fans couldn’t have asked for a better match-up to wind up this contest. It is such a coincidence that number one will face number two in a match that will decide the ultimate champion. Interesting.
