Ndahiro In Rwanda To Join Police

Uganda Cranes left-back Derrick Ndahiro is set to join Police FC in the Rwanda Premier League.

The player has had successful negotiations with the Kigali-based club, and is now currently in Rwanda to finalize the deal.

The roving leftback joined URA FC from SC Villa in 2021 on a three-year employment contract, and has now served two with one more to go, but he’d want another challenge elsewhere.

Last season, Ndahiro’s URA finished fifth with 42 points from 28 games. And in his first season with the Nakawa side, the Tax Collectors finished third with 55 points from 30 games.

A Ugandan born to Rwandese parents, Ndahiro has solely developed his career in Uganda.

He started out with Kick Soccer Academy, Rifo Namataba in the fourth division, and then catapulting to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) with Villa and URA.

‘Small body, big brain’ is a phrase so synonymous with the slim 23-year old player with a huge football talent. He is also commonly known as ‘Di Maria’ in likeness to the Argentine’s swift skills enclosed in a relatively small body.

Like his idol, Brazilian Marcelo Viera, the Ugandan left back is a joy to watch on the left flank.

He has the ability to defend with ease, and also venture forward to deliver dangerous pinpoint crosses for his teammates to score.

Ndahiro is a player that is expected to add alot to the Rwanda top division side that wants to improve on last season’s perfomance.

Last season, Police accumulated 47 points to finish fifth on the 16-team Rwanda Premier League table, behind APR, Kiyovu Sports, Rayon Sports and Kigali.

This season, after one game, they sit fourth on the table after beating Sunrise FC 2-0 in the opener.
