Kataka FC registered a slim 1-0 win against Kiyinda Boys in the FUFA Big League at Mbale stadium.

Okur Swamad’s goal in the 66th minute was all the hosts needed to register another very important victory at home.

From four points to seven in four games, the win now takes Kataka to fifth position on the table, while Kiyinda Boys with three points dropped to the red zone, thirteenth of 15 teams, only above Ndejje University and Young Elephants who are both yet to win any single point so far.

Kataka have only lost points away from home, but have maintained a one hundred percent winning record at home.

Before Thursday’s 1-0 victory against Kiyinda Boys, Kataka had also defeated Blacks Power 2-1 at Mbale stadium.

In the game against Kiyinda Boys, there was nothing much to write about the first half which was rather dull, with both sides playing more conservatively than offensively.

It was until later on in the second half that the home side intensified their search for a goal, as the visitors played more cautiously and intentionally slowed down the game as they seemed comfortable travelling back home with just a point.

After an hour played, inspirational Kataka captain Steven Namaisi once again initiated the attack, launching a long throw-in straight into the opponent’s crowded penalty area.

There was a scuffle and shortly after, the referee didn’t hesitate to point at the penalty spot as he judged that there was foul play on Junior Zaake in box.

Amidst protestation from the visiting players, technical team and fans, the referee stuck to his decision, and after the situation calmed down, Okur stepped up to take if for Kataka, against Given Lukyamuzi in goal for Kiyinda.

Calm and collected, the Kataka midfielder converted, raising the Kataka fans at Mbale stadium to their feet.

The once dull game then became more lively after the home side scored, and the visitors opened up a little more as they needed to score to get atleast one point, but fell short.
