The I&M Katogo Golf Invitational Series concluded on a triumphant note with an electrifying Cocktail Finale.

At the grand finale held at Entebbe Club last Saturday, more than 80 pairs of golfers showcased their skills on the immaculate greens.

The course conditions were top-notch, offering a remarkable experience with well-cut greens that met the highest standards.

The tournament’s unique “Oh Gosh” play format added excitement, with golfers paired up, recording individual nett scores on each hole. The pair’s worst nett score contributed significantly to the final results. Teams also strategically chose six holes where the better score counted, enhancing the challenge.

The gathering swelled at the 19th hole as participants and guests celebrated the culmination of the enthralling I&M Katogo Golf Invitational Series, renowned for fostering camaraderie and liveliness among participants.

The presence of the iconic Johnnie Walker, hosting a cocktail bar, added flavor to the evening, offering a selection of tantalizing themed cocktails such as Fruity Johnnie & Berries, Creamy Johnnie Colada, and the spicy Johnnie Firecracker.

Distinguished guests including His Lordship the Attorney General of the Republic of Uganda – Kirwowa Kiwanuka, Dr. Tumubweine Twinemanzi – Executive Director Supervision, Bank of Uganda, I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow, and members of the bank’s Exco graced the event.

In the Ladies’ category, sisters Charity Atuhaire and Faith Namara emerged as the top pair, while Jackson Were and Enock Nuwagaga claimed victory in the Men’s category. Both winning pairs received trophies, air tickets to Rwanda, and a weekend stay at Serena hotels.

Hannington Mpima, the Katogo series Captain, commended anchor sponsors I&M Bank Uganda for their support in elevating the series into a notable brand that attracted participants nationwide.

Expressing gratitude, Mpima said, “I want to thank I&M Bank for their trust in us. We started with a focus on fun, and look how successful we’ve become this year! Thank you, and next year, we’re aiming even higher.”

I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow thanked golfers for embracing the series and pledged continued collaboration for the next three years, affirming the bank’s commitment to elevate the experience further.

Katogo Patrons Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Edward Kabuchu honored Robin by presenting him with a putter and extended an invitation for him to join Entebbe Club. They also recognized Annette Nakiyaga, I&M Bank’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, with a sealed present for her instrumental role in transforming the series from a casual event to a premier tournament on the golf calendar.
