Nam Blazers Vs City Oilers Postponed

The eagerly anticipated clash between Namuwongo Blazers and City Oilers this Friday in the 2024 National Basketball League has been postponed.

The-SportsNation has learned that the postponement stems from the absence of five City Oilers players, currently representing the Silverbacks team in Tunisia for the Afrobasket Qualifiers.

The notable absentees from the Oilers’ roster include Fayed Baale, Tonny Drilleba, Ivan Muhwezi, Titus Lual Odeke, and James Okello who will also be in action for Uganda against Cape Verde on that Friday.

Their absence has prompted the rescheduling of the match, which was initially slated for this Friday.

As a result, Namuwongo Blazers will now face off against D-mark Power in a rescheduled and brought-forward fixture.

Meanwhile, two Saturday games, pitting KIU Titans against Livingstone and UCU Canons against JKL Dolphins, have also been postponed due to the same reason.

The Saturday games are set to take place at the UCU Courts in Mukono.

Nam Blazers, fresh from a victory against Koala Rockets on Sunday, were gearing up for their fourth win in five games this season.

On the other hand, City Oilers maintain an unbeaten streak with five wins in as many games.

The matchup between Oilers and Blazers was anticipated to be a spectacle, echoing the intensity of their 2022 finals series encounter that went up to the decisive game seven.

However, fans will have to wait for the rescheduled fixture to witness this anticipated showdown.
