In a captivating showdown on Friday evening in the National Basketball League (NBL), Nam Blazers clinched a remarkable victory over City Oilers, halting their unbeaten streak for the season.

The Blazers secured a 60-54 triumph in a thrilling encounter that saw a dramatic turnaround in the final quarter.

Despite City Oilers maintaining a solid lead of 36-28 at halftime, Nam Blazers mounted a ferocious comeback in the last quarter, outscoring their opponents 24-12 to clinch the win.

Notably, Nam Blazers capitalized on their dominance in rebounding, outperforming the Oilers with a commanding margin of 58-44.

Leading the charge for Nam Blazers was Joseph Chuma, who topped the scoring charts with an impressive 17 points.

Peter Cheng also delivered a stellar performance, contributing a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, Paul Odong (12) also reached double digits in points.

On the opposing side, Titus Lual and Moses Maker were the standout performers for City Oilers, registering 13 and 11 points respectively.

However, key players Tonny Drilleba, Ivan Muhwezi, and Fayed Baale struggled to make a significant impact, combining for just 13 points.

The victory serves as a significant boost for Nam Blazers, instilling confidence as they set their sights on disrupting City Oilers’ pursuit of a tenth consecutive league title.

Meanwhile, City Oilers, navigating their first season without head coach Mandy Juruni, who has joined Kepler University in Rwanda, will be looking to regroup and bounce back from this setback.
