Uganda’s chances of advancing to the semi-finals of the ongoing COSAFA U17 in Mauritius got a big boost after humiliating host nation Mauritius.

Captian Juliet Nalukenge led the Ayub khalifah team, scoring 6 goals on the afternoon as Uganda record an emphatic 11-0 victory.

New Kampala Queens signing Fauzia Najjembe bagged a brace as Margaret Kunihira, Stella musibika and Daphine Nayenga scored the other goals for Uganda.

The win takes Uganda to four points after drawing 1-1 with Zambia in the opening match.

Ayub khalifah’s side will return to action when they play Seychelles in the last group A match.

Head coach Ayub Khalif has praised the girls for playing under instructions as they earned maximum points in an emphatic style.

“My target as a coach was to win the game because I saw Mauritius play and they won their first game,” said Khalifa after the game.

“I loved the way my girls played the game. The girls played under Instructions. We changed the strategy to and it turns out to be a shrewd decision.”
