URA FC Signs Isiagi

URA FC continued with their signing spree with the addition of 24 year old Daniel Isiagi Opolot, it is official.

Isiagi who has been playing for Al-Nasr SC of Egypt, has penned a contract which will see him at URA until June 2020.

He becomes the latest addition of the tax collectors who had earlier signed about 12 players.

“Daniel is now a tax collector. Welcome home,” reads a tweet from URA FC.

Speaking after agreeing the terms with his new club, Isiagi said he wants to help the team to get positive results.

“URA is one of the biggest teams in Uganda so its a good feeling for me to join them and hopefully I can help the team score goals and get positive results. I can’t wait to join my teammates and get started,” he Isiagi.

The forward had previously played for a defunct Victoria University FC (2013-2014), KCCA FC (2014-2016)and recently Proline FC in 2018 before joining the Egyptian side Al-Nasr SC where he has spent just one year.

“For us the individual goal is clear, this season Daniel Isiagi will stand as topscorer king in the UPL,” vowed his agent Jens Leidewall, who has well represented Halid Lwaliwa, Paul Willa, Allan Kyambadde, Ibrahim Juma, Sadat Anaku, Bashir Asiku and other high level Ugandan players.

Isiagi has joined the many players signed by the club which include Anwar Ntege, Ashraf Mandela, Samuel Mwaka, Brian Majwega, Ivan Sserubiri, Mikidad Senyonga, Ivan Ntege and Hassan Kalega, Ibrahim Dada and Michael Birungi among others.

The tax collectors are 11th on the league log with four points from as many games. The side beat Maroons and a draw against Kyetume FC. They lost to Wakiso Giants and Tooro United.

URA will return to league action on October 1 with a visit to Betway Muteesa II Stadium to face Bright Stars.
