CECAFA U20: Hippos, Sudan To Fight For Top Spot

Much will be at stake as Uganda Hippos face off with neighbours Sudan in the CECAFA U20 Championship at Pece Stadium, Gulu.

The two neighboring countries will be in pursuit of top spot in group A – Both sides are still unbeaten and have collected four points each.

Uganda drew one all against Eritrea in their opener but bounced back with a commanding 5-1 thrashing of Djibouti on Monday.

Sudan on the other hand, beat Djibouti 4-0 in the opener before sharing spoils with Eritrea in a six goal thriller.

Uganda are actually second by virtue of most goals scored – Morley Byekwaso’s troops have scored 6 goals, one less than Sudan.

“We have improved a great deal than our first game. I know with time, we shall continue to gel with as I also get more acquitted to the team,” noted Byekwaso after beating Djibouti 5-1.

Mohamed Abbas Namir, Shihab Eldeen Siddiq Abdalrahman and Musab Kurdman Elfaki will be pillars for Sudan while Uganda will bank on Sadat Anaku, Steven Sserwadda, Ivan Bogere, Isma Mugulusi for goals.
