Troubled Police FC will be seeking for resuscitation when they take on Wakiso Giants on Tuesday at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo on match-day 10.

Police sit second from the foot of the log with just two points, seven points adrift of safety going into Tuesday’s encounter.

The side has lost three games in a row and a recent international break was highly welcomed by the club in their bid to rectify past errors.

They have scored only seven and conceded a league high 16 but that might not be their main source of worry but the the manner they have conceded them has been suspect with Paul Willa’s goal against Hilary Jomi still under scrutiny. The goalkeeper was later suspended and missed the trip to face Busoga United.

With Davis Mutebi back in goal and the availability of the towering Henry Katongole, there is much hope that Police FC may produce a water-tight defence against a Wakiso Giants that struggled to beat Proline FC in their last engagement.

The Cops, who host games at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, have sought for another place elsewhere after the unavailability of the busy Wakissha Resource centre.

This game was taken to Luzira Prisons and the decision was rescinded before zeroing on Lugogo.

The astro turf provides a good platform for Abdallah Mubiru’s tik-tak flowing game but will need more than that if they are to break down a resolute Wakiso team.

“The break has helped in recovery since we had played over three games in one week,” Coach Kefa Kisala told Wakiso Giants media. “The game against Police is a tough one as they are desperate for points. They are a good team with a very good coach but we shall go there with a positive mind to get three points and optimistic about a decent result.”

The Purples Sharks are set to welcome back captain and goalkeeper Yasin Mugabi while it’s not yet known whether Ayub Kisalita, Yasin Mugume and Tom Masiko will play a part
