The Kenya national women’s hockey team flexed their scoring muscles when they thrashed hapless Uganda 11-0 in a one sided Africa Cup of Nations test-match played at Sikh Union Hockey Stadium in Parklands, Nairobi.

The Ugandans could not match the poise, skill and guile of their Kenyan opponents and were at sixes and sevens for the entirety of the one sided encounter.

Grace Bwire scored a superb hat trick as Flavia Mutiva bagged a brace and three assists to spur the hosts to their first win of the three test matches.

Kenya scored seven field goals in the opening three quarters before adding four short-corner goals to open the 2021 hockey campaign on a high note.

The Doreen Asiimwe captained Ugandans looked a disjointed composition throughout and Coach Sandra Namusoke has a tough job on her hands to reset his side as they play Kenya again on Saturday.

The Test matches are under international Hockey Federation and points collected determine international hockey standings.
