We Have To Fight For Busoga United – Shaka Ssozi

Barely three months after joining Busoga United, forward Shaka Ssozi has brought an immediate impact to the Abbey Kikomeko coached side.

The latter has scored four goals for the Jinja based side, including a brace in the side’s final game of the first round as they beat Kitara 2-1.

The forward in an exclusive interview with this website noted that its their work as players to fight and see that the team gets back to where it was the previous season.

“As a forward I feel happy scoring goals but we have to fight for the team because last season they did better and finished in 4th position . Shaka said.

“I have just joined the team and I have to fulfil its obligations because we can’t be fighting for relegation.”

Joining Busoga United Shaka says his main target was to find playing time but scoring goals was the other and he set a goal tally the end of the season.

“My main target was to find a team where I can play football and I achieved that.

“My target is to score 10goals and above.”

Shaka Ssozi’s 4goals this season have came against Onduparaka (1), MYDA(1) and Kitara (2).

Busoga United will kick off their Second round at home, hosting Onduparaka and Ssozi says the break will help them rectify mistakes they made in the first round.

“Of course the break is going to affect us because we had got our rhythm but we are not going to rest as we will keep putting in the work needed rectifying our mistakes in the first round.

“As a forward who set targets this season, I will be working on my scoring skills.”

After a long spell of 14 games in the relegation Zone, they are currently 13th on the Uganda Premier League log with 14 points after 15 games played.
