Better To Win With Character Than Losing With Style – Byekwaso

KCCA FC Team Manager Morley Byekwaso has defended the way his team played in a hard fought 1-0 victory against Arua Hill at the Barifa Stadium on Friday.

Substitute Davis Kasirye who came on for the injured Julius Poloto scored the all important goal in the 38th minute to seal the victory for the Kasasiro Boys.

Speaking after the game, Morley Byekwaso was grateful for the win admitting that it was a very tough game.

“I thank the almighty for giving us this result,” Morley Byekwaso started. “The result has been so good though the game was so hard and I would like to thank my players for the input and effort they have put into this game.”

“My players fought from the first half when when we scored the goal upto the end . I have liked the character though we defended so much in the second half but we were playing thinking about the result that’s why we played such a defensive shape today.”

The win stretches KCCA’s unbeaten run to 7 matches having won 6 and drawn only once against Bright Stars with 19 points. They sit on top of the log.

“The points are very crucial having got all the 3 against Arua Hill, it’s not easy to come here and get the three points so many contenders have lost here so we are extremely happy for what God has given us today.”

KCCA was on the receiving end throughout the second half applying delaying tactics but the gaffer has explained why they opted to be defensive.

“This is not the style of the game we always play but it’s better to win with character than losing with style. I have really appreciated the boys for what they have done and they really know what they want.”

The table leaders next assignment will be a home tie with BUL FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo on Wednesday 1st December.
