*SC Villa 1-1 KCCA
*Police 3-1 Busoga United
*Vipers SC 1-0 Tooro United

Caesar Manzoki scored the only goal as Vipers managed to edge Tooro United in a league game at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The Venoms were frustrated until the 71st minute when the Congolese managed to break Tooro United’s resilience.

It was a well worked out goal – Allan Kayiwa fonds Aziz Kayondo who strolled forward before teeing up Manzoki for the forward to slot under an onrushing Lukyamuzi.

Manzoki who earlier saw his goal ruled out for offside, has now scored six league goals for the Venoms.

Lukyamuzi was outstanding and was the difference between Vipers and a goal for extended stretches.

The goalkeeper, nicknamed Given in reference to former Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given, denied Milton Karisa with a low save before keeping out Dan Sserunkuma with a reflex.

He made a double save before halftime – He spilled Bright Anukani’s effort and denied Manzoki from a close rebound.

Yunus Sentamu had a poor day before he was taken off for Kayiwa at halftime.

Kayiwa who was facing his former side almost put Vipers in-front when he collected Apollo Kagoggwe and Nana Kakeeto but his cut back was blocked.

Karisa beats Ponsiano Ssegonja with pace to break free on the right flank but his effort from a tight angle kissed the outside of the upright.

It was Vipers all the way, with the Visitors sitting back and wait on the break.

Tooro United’s close chance fell to Denis Ojara and Marvin Oshaba but both missed to failed to beat Fabien Mutombora.

Vipers move second with 23 points, and with a game in hand, they sit four points below leaders KCCA FC who were held to a 1-1 draw with SC Villa.

It’s the first win for Vipers at Kitende in their last three home games – They had lost to URA FC before a 2-2 draw with KCCA.

For Tooro United, they remain rock bottom with 4 points after suffering their ninth loss of the season.
