URA FC Beat Mbarara City To Return To Winning Ways

URA FC managed to overcome Mbarara City in Uganda Premier League game at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje.

Shafic Kagimu and Ibrahim Dada were on target for the Tax Collectors who ended their four-game drawing run.

Kagimu scored from the rebound after his initial effort had ricocheted from the post.

While Kagimu will take the credit for the goal, but Steven Mukwala did the donkey work on the right flank to deliver a teasing cross that troubled the Mbarara City defence.

Mbarara City improved in the second half but failed to find the equaliser before substitute Dada extended the hosts’ lead from the spot.

Hillary Mukundane conceded a penalty after his high boot dangerous tackle landed on Living Kabon’s head for referee Rajab Bakasambe to point to the spot.

Muhammed Sekeba rightly dived to his effort but Dada had sent his effort far beyond his reach.

The Tax Collectors were not at their best but did just enough to claim maximum points with a clean sheet.

Mukwala could have scored earlier only to head wide a corner from Shafic Kagimu.

And Kagimu fired wide either side of his goal as the Tax Collectors exerted early pressure while Said Kyeyune’s freekick was equally saved the Mbarara custodian.

Mbarara were a better side in the second half with Seiri Arigumaho heading wide a good freekick a Pistis Barenge frederick.

Seiri later wasted a goalkeeper to beat chance after Nafian Alionzi sprawled out wide to make a timely clearance.

Substitute Thomas Kakaire volleyed over the bar while Mukundane forced Nafian into a reflex save.
