KCCA FC Confirms Return of Shaban Muhammad

Shaban Muhammad rejoins KCCA

Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have confirmed signing Muhammad Shaban from Onduparaka on a two-year deal.

Shaban returns to KCCA since leaving the side in 2018 when he joined Raja Casablanca in what turned out to be an unsuccessful spell in Morocco.

He had joined the Lugogo-based side in 2017 from Caterpillars on a three-year deal.

And he went on to score against St George at Lugogo, a goal that ensured KCCA become the first Ugandan club to reach CAF Champions League groups.

Shaban left Raja after five games and joined Vipers where his two-year spell was characterized by injuries before returning to Onduparaka.

Shaban Muhammad has rejoined KCCA FC

He scored 15 goals for Onduparaka, going on to help the club survive relegation.

And in one of his interviews last season, he was quoted as saying that he will never leave Onduparaka for any other local club!

The striker has been unveiled in a ‘superman’ video at Lugogo where he is seen falling from the sky before punching the camera.

His announcement is a big move for coach Morley Byekwaso who is assembling a squad to compete for next season.

“Today I say goodbye to a magnificent club as it is Onduparaka,” Shaban has written on Facebook in a farewell message.

“I want to thank the Club for helping me become a better footballer and for making me feel at home during my time here.”

KCCA previously unveiled Muhamed Ssenoga, Kankonde Tshisungu and Moses Waiswa.

Teenagers Faisal Wabyoona, Saidi Mayanja, and Allan Enyou are the other additions.

Shaban will be competing for a spot in the squad with the likes of Tshisungu Kankonde, Sadat Anaku, Brian Aheebwa, Brian Kayanja, and Charles Lwanga among others.

Shaban, gifted with pace, is an intelligent forward who is angry for goals and his addition gives KCCA FC some firepower at the front as they are expected to compete against a side like Vipers who have already added Lumala Abdu, Murushid Juuko among other stars.
