Reports: Four NBL Players Suspended By FUBA

The Penalties

  1. Martin Ouma (KCCA) – 1 game suspension, $200
  2. David Opolot (UPDF) – 3 games, $200
  3. Ferdinand Odama (UPDF) – 2 games, $200
  4. Paul Odong (Nam Blazers) – 2 games

Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) has issued out fines and bans to four players, The-SportsNation has been told.

Two players David ‘OP’ Opolot (UPDF Tomahawks) and Martin Ouma Buluma (KCCA Panthers) have been suspended following a brawl in the league clash on Wednesday, March 29 at Lugogo.

Ferdinand Odama (UPDF Tomahawks) has been found guilty of dangerous play in the game against City Oilers.

Paul ‘MacGyver’ Odongo is the fourth player, whose suspension follows his remarks against Referees.

FUBA is yet to issue an official statement about the matter, and efforts to reach them for confirmation have been futile.

During UPDF’s 58-62 loss to KCCA, there was a melee in the fourth quarter when Opolot fouled Buluma, and the two players had to be restrained off court.

Opolot who is said to have punched Buluma, has been given a three-game suspension and ordered to pay Sh750,000.

He will miss UPDF games against KIU Titans, Power and UCU Canons.

Buluma who lost his temper thereafter, will sit out the game against Kampala Rockets on April 8.

Odama, in a 78-53 league loss against City Oilers on April 2, made a career-threatening foul on Titus Lual when he pushed the Oilers Power Forward who was in full flight, from the back.

He has been suspended for two games and will as well pay Sh750,000.

Odongo on the other hand, after their 77-87 loss to UCU Canons on March 31, called out officials branding them ‘crap and rusty.’

The Nam Blazers captain has been suspended for two games.
