Shakira Nyinagahirwa Opens Up On Winning Double Awards

Kawempe Muslim midfielder Shakira Nyanagahirwa has revealed the factors behind her recent success.

Nyanagahirwa was named the MVP and top scorer of the just concluded FUFA Women Super League following her brilliant performances in the season.

While addressing the pressmen after receiving her accolades, Nyanagahirwa admitted she wanted to lift her side to a better position.

“At the beginning of the season, I expected to put up a good performance to help my team finish in a better position, She stated.

It has been a brilliant season for Nyinagahirwa, who finished as the top scorer of the just concluded FUFA Women Super League.

She scored 12 goals and assisted as many to help her side finish second with 33 points.

But Nyanagahirwa started the season on a low note, with the best of her performances coming in the second round of the season.

“At first I didn’t think about it being the top scorer but as time went on, I started believing.

Up next on her menu will be national schools championship for the girls, a tournament She yearns to keep up with the same energy.

“At the nationals, I want to continue with the same performance so that I can keep up the same pace and win more, She added.

The Kawempe midfielder, who has had a brilliant season will be undoubtedly a top contender for the best Women player of the year awards that are most likely to return this year with a new Sponsor MTN.
