Allan Okello On Steady Recovery Path

It was very good news for Vipers when they finally confirmed capturing the signature of silky Ugandan midfield sensation Allan Okello in one of the most expensive transfers in Ugandan football.

Okello crossed over to to the Uganda Premier League holders from KCCA, where he was loaned by Algerian outfit Paradou AC.

The bad news, however, was that at the time they signed him, he was injured, and it would take some time for him to be fully fit to finally play for the Venoms.

Upto now, it’s not very clear exactly when Okello will finally make his Vipers debut, but some other good news is that he has started his rehabilitation journey, and it’s moving on smoothly, so far.

Even better, the midfielder would not necessarily need a surgery as earlier on feared. “Okello had scans carried out before and show that the star boy may not undergo surgery as it was being spread around,” the club confirmed.

“Star boy, Allan Okello started his rehabilitation,” the Kitende-based club confirmed last week.

This week, while giving an update on their treasured jewel, Vipers revealed that the player was reacting positively, showing ‘very good signs’ towards his recovery.

Okello was pictured in the Vipers gym lifting some light weights and running on the treadmill. However, It is only hoped that he will be back in full training at the beginning of the second round, as announced by Vipers.

Meanwhile, without Okello, the UPL defending Champions sit fifth on the 16-team table with eight points from four games.

Vipers will visit Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreation grounds this week on Friday, October 27. A win that day would see the Venoms move to double figures in points for the first time this season.
