Vipers secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against 10-man UPDF FC at Bombo Barracks Ground.

Defender Livingston Mulondo’s early goal proved decisive in a match where the Venoms had to toil for the three points.

Aggrey Kirya’s second-half dismissal left the hosts at a numerical disadvantage.

The game was briefly halted due to heavy rainfall around the thirty-minute mark.

The hosts showed early attacking intent, but Yunus Sentamu missed the first clear chance.

Their persistence paid off in the tenth minute when Mulondo capitalized on the hosts’ failure to clear the ball to find the net.

Despite Vipers’ attempts to increase their lead, Goalkeeper Mabuya Simon made impressive saves, denying Eric Kambale, Sentamu, and Rodrigo Shamamba.

UPDF FC’s chances were hampered after Kirya’s expulsion in the 63rd minute for a foul on Sentamu.

Despite playing with ten men, UPDF posed threats and had opportunities to equalize, but their finishing lacked precision.

Christopher Tebandeke hit the crossbar, while Faridi Achumu and Jibril Badru Nsimbe’s efforts missed the target.

Vipers currently hold the second position in the league with 20 points from nine matches, while UPDF FC sits 13th with 8 points.
