Shaban Muhammad scored the only goal of the game as KCCA FC edged UPDF FC in a closely contested league game at Lugogo.

Shaban converted from the spot in the 41st minute, with his strike going in off the post, after he looked to have been shoved from the back for the referee to point to the spot.

KCCA survived some good attacks from UPDF and held on to the final whistle to claim maximum points.

Off the back of a 2-0 win over rivals SC Villa at Namboole, the impressive run has now lifted KCCA to fourth with 45 points, four below leaders BUL.

Shaban now takes his goal-scoring tally to 16 goals, three above Nelson Ssenkatuka (Bright Stars), Isaac Wagoina (Express) and Denis Omedi (Kitara).

KCCA FC’s remaining games are against URA (A), Wakiso Giants (H) and Maroons (A).

UPDF have dropped to second from bottom with 21 points, four adrift of safety with three games against SC Villa (H), Maroons (H) and Wakiso Giants (A) remaining.
