‘Sadio Mane Is Best In Africa’

Sadio Mane is Africa’s best player according to BVB Dortmund youngster Erling Braut Haland.

The Norwegian forward when interacting with his followers this week on Instagram, answered various questions including when he was asked who he thinks is Africa’s best footballer at the moment.

“There are many good players, but now I think Mane,” Haland responded.

Mane scored the opening goal as Liverpool beat Haland’s Redbul Salzburg at Anfield in Champions League groups this season in the game the Norwegian was also on target.

Haland later moved to join Dortmund.

Mane has so far scored 14 goals for runaway leaders Liverpool in the league.

In Uganda, he is locally remembered to have scored the lone goal as Senegal beat Uganda Cranes 1-0 in the 2019 AFCON round of 16.

In the same match, Mane had his penalty saved by Cranes goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

Haland’s comments may not come as a surprise to many after Mane has finished inside the top three on the CAF African best player of the year since 2016 before he was crowned the best last year, beating Mohamed Salah and Riyad Mahrez
