Uganda Cranes and Motherwell FC defender Bevis Mugabi has opened up about lockdown life in Scotland.
About 4,109 people in Scotland have died due to Covid19!
Scotland has just moved from level four to three in the country’s tiered system of Covid19 restrictions.
“It’s become the new norm for us being in our little bubble,” Mugabi told the club website.
“It’s literally go to training, come back, go to the supermarket, then come home to your flat. It has been very different as normally we have a little Starbucks group that go for coffee after training but that’s not happening obviously.
“We’ve had to adapt but we’ve done it quite well.”
Mugabi, just like any other player, will not be enjoying Christmas period as it was in the previous years.
The former Yeovil defender added: “Christmas nights out or dinners are all part of the team morale and it’s important you all celebrate Christmas, especially this year when there isn’t a winter break. It would have been nice to have something to look forward to but obviously doesn’t look like any chance of that happening.
“These nights out are normally always good. There was one in particular at Yeovil Town which I can’t go into too much detail about. Nobody got arrested but it was a good night!”
On Saturday, Motherwell lost 1-0 at home to St Mirren and currently sit fifth with 21 points from 17 games.
Next is a trip to face SPL giants Rangers.
Bevis Mugabi who has scored one goal from 11 league appearances this season for Motherwell, missed Uganda Cranes AFCON Qualifiers double header in November against South Sudan.
He is hoping to be available next year as Uganda host Burkina Faso on March 22nd before visiting Malawi on March 30.
“I was meant to go away in the last international break but couldn’t because of my dislocated shoulder, so hopefully I’ll be back in March,” the lanky defender added.
