Hasifah Nassuna scored her 100th league goal as her side UCU Lady Cardinals lost 2-1 to Kampala Queens in a Fufa Women Super league game held at IUIU ground, Kabojja on Wednesday.
Nassuna scored in the 8th minute of the game to write history in Uganda’s Women Football.
It was a joyful moment to remember and a minute was awarded with everyone clapping to mark the moment.
But later on, the hosts Kampala Queens came from a goal down to win the game thanks to Shamirah Nalugya first half penalty and Zainah Nandede’s late winner.
The result sees Kampala Queens move to 32 points, but are now slip to the second position, with only goal difference separating them with leaders She Corporates who thrashed Olila H/S 5-0 on Wednesday.
For UCU, they suffer a second successive defeat on the road and they stay fourth on 21 points.
Nasuna put the Visitors ahead with just eight minutes into the game to mark her 100th league goal.
But Nalugya levelled matters in the 17th minute through the spot after Fiona Atimaku handed the ball in the area.
At the restart, the hosts came back a more rejuvenated side as they kept the search for a second.
The introduction of Lillian Mutuuzo brought in more life to the Queens attacks as they started opening up to break a solid Cardinals defence.
And finally in added time, Nandede scored the winner to send the home side into wide celebrations.
Victory ensured that Kampala Queens moved to 32 points but are now second with only goal difference separating them from leaders She Corporates.
For UCU, it is a big blow in their quest to close down the gap at the top. They stay fourth on 21 points after 15 games.
